In Ribbons to shoot from May 4th – 6th

In Ribbons 1I am both excited and delighted to be working with such a very dynamic team on a new short film titled In Ribbons, which will be shot over a 3 days May 4th – 6th 2013. The team are currently scouting for locations North and West of the city.

One of the most challenging aspects of any project is raising the budget particularly in the current climate. We managed to raise part of our target, some of which has been spent on the test shoot in December. We are about to launch a new campaign to cover the costs of the cast & crew, sourcing equipment and covering other expenses including locations, transport, insurance, catering, post production costs and festival entries! If you would like to contribute please visit our campaign page to find out more, all contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Written by Caroline Farrell, In Ribbons was an award winning script at the Waterford Film Festival, 2010

Set in 1968, and in a silent room, Laurie, aged 5, surrounded by her dolls and toys, waits for her father to return home. Elated by the gift of the new clothes that he brings her, she especially loves the brightly-coloured ribbons that he ties into her long hair. In anticipation of going outside, she dresses excitedly in the bright new clothing, beaming with happiness as her father buttons up her new coat. Laurie’s father is taking her on a journey; to a destination that is within walking-distance from her house, yet is a place that is far from home.
