The Dublin Dockworkers Preservation Society are presenting a photograph exhibition commencing on July 6th featuring 40 photos from the 1940 to 1990 period, carefully selected by the Preservation Society. These are accompanied by a slide show featuring over 1,000 images, donated by dockers, their families.

The official launch will take place on Friday 6th July at 7 pm in the by the new Lord Mayor of Dublin Naoise Ó Muirí at the Sean O’Casey Community Centre, which I believe is one of the best designed public building on the North side (St. Marys Road, East Wall). The exhibition will continue on Saturday 7th July from 10am to 4pm, including an illustrated talk by Francis Devine on the Dublin Dock workers and their trade union movement at 2pm.
Other events are taking place in association with the exhibition include a social evening featuring musician Paul O’Brien (“Songs from the North Lotts” and “Port to Port”) at the Green Room Bar, Lower Sheriff Street, at 9.30pm Friday 6th July:
