The largest and most complex project I have been involved in 2012 has been an exhibition for the 50th Eucharistic Congress (IEC2012). Titled ‘Through the Eyes of the Apostles: Life Overwhelmed by a Presence’ it was commissioned by Icarus Foundation a non for profit organisation and It will be one of many exhibitions through a week long of activities at the RDS from June 10th to 17th to mark the 50th Eucharistic Congress. The exhibition will cover an area of 1,350 square meters and aims recreate many elements from the village Capernaum, and the shores of the Sea of Galilee where Jesus lived over 2000 years ago. Those visiting the exhibition will be bought on a 45 minute guided tour in groups of 30. One of the biggest challenges as a project manager has been working on such a large exhibition where roughly half of those involved have been volunteers, with little or no experience in this type of work.
Throughout the course of the next 2 weeks I provide an insight into how the project was managed and hopefully bought to a successful conclusion.
