Tom Peters began his career as a civil engineer and went on to be a top management consultant in the U.S. In 1982 he wrote a book called In Search of Excellence which explored the art and science of business management used by leading 1980s companies with records of long-term profitability and continuing innovation.
The book became one of the most widely read business books in the U.S and gained him national exposure which resulted in a TV series. In 1999 In Search of Excellence was ranked as the “greatest business book of all time” in a poll by Britain’s Bloomsbury.
Today Tom Peters is regarded as one of the most respected, influential author and speaker on business management with engagements all over the world. His latest book published in 2010 The Little BIG Things: 163 Ways to Pursue Excellence was another big seller .
There are many excellent Tom Peters youtube clips available on-line but this is one of my personal favourites.
