Golden Globes Winners 2011 and the Irish Nominees

The 69th Golden Globe Awards took place last night honouring the best in film and television for 2011, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The big winner of the night was the silent, black and white film, The Artist which took 3 awards.

Unfortunately there was only one winner with an Irish connection which was Peter Dinklage Game of Thrones (HBO) in the category for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television which was shot in Northern Ireland with Irish cast members and some editing in the Republic.  Irish costume designer Consolata Boyle was responsible for the fine costumes in the Iron Lady.
