Jordan and Bennett’s script Fury will be directed by Jordan, the script is still in its early stages of development. It follows the rise and fall of a young Irish traveller and reluctant gangster called Bunny Fury. The film is currently under development by James Flynn’s Octagon Films.
Keeping it all very much in the family Flynn’s wife, Juanita Wilson was also awarded €50,000 for her adaptation of Daniel Woodrell’s (Winter’s Bone) novel The Ones You Do, Wilson is also down to direct. It tells the story of John X Shade, a seasoned gambler and one-time pool hall king from the Deep South who is forced to go on the run with his ten-year-old daughter after his wife steals the $50,000 he was minding for a local gangster.
Director Norah Mc Gettigan has also secured funding to for her debut film The Sanctuary, an Ireland-Poland co-production, produced by Andrew Freedman (His and Hers), its set to start shooting on Aug 2.
