This movie was filmed in Ireland in 2006, directed by Julian Jarrold. It was inspired by the early life of Jane Austen ( Anne Hathaway) and her romantic encounter with Thomas Lefoy (James McEvoy) an Irish Law student, who went on to become Lord Cheif Justice of Ireland between 1852-1866. It also stars Julie Walters, James Cronwell and Maggie Smith. There were some great venues chosen for this movie, including the locations for both Balls. One was filmed at Taylors Hall, Christchurch and the second was filmed at Charleville Castle, Tullamore, Co Offaly. The closing of the movie where Jane does her reading is of course the splendid Dublin City Hall. This movie took $38 million at the box office worldwide, it was a pleasure to have worked on and is worth watching!
The soundtrack was excellent too original music by Adrian Johnston
